The President of the Republic of Sudan
H.E. Omer Hassan Ahmed AL Bashir received on 12th Jan. 2008, H.E. Abdelaziz
KHELEF, Director General of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa
(BADEA).
H.E. President AL Bashir praised, as
great, the vital role BADEA is playing in consolidating Afro-Arab Co-operation.
He expressed to his guest the full support of the Sudan Government to BADEA and
urged the Bank to intensify its efforts to strengthen the set projects to
alleviate poverty and misery in the Sub-Sahara Africa countries.
H.E. BADEA's Director General seized
the opportunity to thank the President for the support and help that the Sudan
Government is extending to the Bank as a host country.
In a press statement to the media,
following the audience with the President, H.E. Khelef said that BADEA, since
its establishment has extended 3 billion US dollar to the Sub-Sahara Africa in
the different fields of economic development projects with special emphasis on
combat poverty, food programmes and human resources.
It is to be mentioned that Khartoum, Capital of the Sudan, is hosting BADEA's
Headquarters since 1974. |
