Addis Ababa, the Capital of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia will be the venue for the First Meeting for the year 2010 for the Board of Directors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA). The meeting will be held during 03-04 March 2010, under the Chairmanship of H.E. Engineer Yousif Bin Ibrahim AL BASSAM and in the presence of H.E. Mr. Abdelaziz KHELEF, the Director General.

 The agenda of the meeting includes a number of important issues; spearheaded by the Report of the Director General on the Bank’s activities during the period January –February 2010, in addition to a number of financial reports.

The Board of Directors is expected to endorse the agenda of the forthcoming meeting of the Board of Governors due to be held in Khartoum during the period 7-8 öApril 2010, and  also review BADEA’s Annual Report for the Year 2009, as well as the Auditors’ Financial Report for the same year.

The Board will approve financing of a new batch of projects and technical assistance operations for the benefit of several African beneficiary countries.

It is worth noting that BADEA’s total cumulative financial commitments to African countries eligible for its aid, including the new commitments, now stands at US $ 3744.127 million until December 2009.
