Within the Context of BADEA’s Support to Arab - African Cooperation

BADEA is pleased to announce to all researchers in the field of Economics and related areas in the Arab and African countries that it has earmarked prizes awards for the best three research reports (studies) in the topics specified hereunder:

Objectives of the Prize:

The Research Competition seeks to support BADEA’s interventions in Sub-Sahara African Countries .
It is intended to support economic policy making in these countries .
It is expected to help in the identification of initiatives and innovative approaches for promoting Afro-Arab cooperation in economic development.
It is expected to help - through the dissemination of the research findings - in knowledge sharing and exchange of information among researches in the area.

Topics of the Research:

Infrastructure in the transport and communications sector in Sub-Saharan African countries: The Present Status, Challenges and its Development Strategies.
The investment climate in Sub-Saharan African countries:, structural challenges, institutional obstacles, and Future Prospects.
Arab Investment in the financial services, ( ie ,the establishment of Joint Arab African banks, insurance companies and financial firms), the Present Status, Challenges and Promotional Strategies.
Arab Investment in energy in Sub-Saharan African countries: The Present Status, Challenges and Promotion.
Arab investment in Agricultural Production in Sub-Saharan African countries: The Present Status, Barriers and Promotional Measures.
Food Security in the Arab and African countries: Pre-requistes and Future Plans.
Trade in Agricultural Products between the African and Arab countries: The Present Status, Avenues and Opportunities for Exchange, Challenges and Responses.
The Participation of the Arabic Private sector in Investment in Sub Saharan African Countries: Pre-requisites and Prospects for Success.
