The President of BADEA

H.E. Mr. Abdullah KH ALMUSAIBEEH

The Board of Governors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), during its 2025 Annual Meeting held in Kuwait City, State of Kuwait, appointed H.E. Mr. Abdullah KH ALMUSAIBEEH as President of the Bank. He assumed office on July 1st, 2025. Before joining BADEA, Mr. ALMUSAIBEEH served as Director of Operations at the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, where he held various senior leadership positions since joining the Fund in 1993. These included Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Arab countries, as well as Deputy Director of Operations. He also held several memberships in boards, committees, and Arab and international development funds, including membership on BADEA’s Board of Directors. Currently, H.E. Mr. ALMUSAIBEEH serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the Trade and Development Bank Group (TDB), the West African Development Bank (BOAD), and the Central African States Development Bank (BDEAC), in addition to his membership in the Heads of the Arab Coordination Group (ACG).
Mr. ALMUSAIBEEH holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science – Mathematics from Kuwait University. He has participated in numerous training programs and international conferences in the fields of administration, negotiation, and technical reporting. Mr. ALMUSAIBEEH brings with him over three decades of extensive experience in development cooperation, international finance, and institutional leadership. He is recognized as a distinguished leader in the management of development operations across African, Arab, and international contexts.
